17 Edmond North Orchestra Spring Concert
The spring concert will feature all three ensembles individually, and they will combine for a performance of Coldplay s Viva la Vida. The orchestra also will feature its traditional Buy-a- Note piece, this year performing Money, Money, Money by ABBA. This annual event gives the audience a chance to participate by purchasing a money-themed tune for just one dollar per note before and during the concert. The ENO has prepared the whole piece but will only perform as many notes as are purchased! Other exciting features of the concert include the Symphony Orchestra s world premiere of Elegy by UCO student-composer and ENO alumni, Kangwa Mundende. Dedicated in memory of Edmond North Orchestra cellist, Connor Lincoln, this beautiful, moving work will surely be an audience favorite. Also included on the concert are several other standard masterworks including the Overture to Nabucco, Holst s beloved Dargason theme from the St. Paul s Suite, and Jesu, Joy of Man s Desiring, Bach s work famously transcribed for string orchestra by Eugene Ormandy.
