Equilibrium fuses urban sounds and backgrounds to create the vibe that has mapped their musical landscape for years. They’ve each stopped off to the land of “funk,” and laid bare their “soul” more times than can be counted. Equilibrium has sweated it out in a garage to make their harmonious echo and sharpened their musical consciousness in the discipline of Jazz. Using the sensual sounds of a seashell to compel their listeners, Equilibrium always seems to know how to satisfy their audience.

Equilibrium is a union of hard-won experience with the simple desire to make people enjoy their story through the medium of music, the deepest expression of the human experience. Two of the members teach at the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma and share their love for music with their students every day.

Equilibrium is filled with diverse influences and talents with a common goal: challenging themselves to make music they love, and bring the audience on the journey with them. Jazz enriched but with a firm pop sensibility, Equilibrium makes heads turn by staying true to their soul/rock roots. They have opened for Ian Moore, Monte Montgomery, Johnny A., Morris Day, The Time, and the legendary B.B. King. They also closed the 2011 Edmond Jazz Festival in Edmond, OK, and were awarded the Oklahoma Gazette’s reader-voted “Woody” award for Best Jazz Band in 2009. Equilibrium is truly ear candy for the urbane soul.
