In 1967 when the musical “Hair” was first performed, the artworld in America was rapidly changing. Genres like Pop Art, Optical Art, and Perceptual Art were gaining popularty. Jason Wilson, a contemporary Perceptual artist from Tulsa, OK exhibits his Op Art-themed pieces reminiscent of 1960s artists such as Frank Stella and Richard Anuszkiewicz. These paintings, inspired by his grandmother’s quiltwork, take the eye into the transcendental world of highly constructed designs and color-field shapes. The exhibit is located in the Krottinger Family Gallery, a space located in the hallway leading into the newly renovated dressing rooms, classrooms and theater spaces of  Mitchell Hall. The gallery exhibits work from UCO Art and Design alumni and intends to be a space that celebrates the continuum of UCO artists and designers who have created significant work for the Oklahoma City metro and beyond.
