The University of Central Oklahoma has a long history of supporting the Paralympic and Olympic movement. In 2006, Central received the designation as an official U.S. Paralympic Training Site and in 2009, received the official Olympic designation becoming one of a select group of U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Sites in the United States.

UCO is home to the U.S. men's and women's sitting volleyball teams. The U.S. women's sitting volleyball team won back-to-back Paralympic gold medals in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

Events: The UCO Endeavor Games is hosted annually on the university campus and throughout Edmond. This event introduces athletes with physical disabilities to Paralympic-style sports and provides an opportunity for athletes to participate in recreation or use the event to start their path to becoming a Paralympian.
