Gracelawn Cemetery

Edmond Historic Sites

Visually unique with its WPA brick and stone fence, Gracelawn Cemetery was established by the citizens of Edmond in April 1895 as the city's first cemetery. It is the burial place of "Kickingbird Reynolds," one of Edmond's founding fathers and one of the original legislators from Oklahoma's early territorial days.

Visit the Veteran's Memorial located at the southwest area of Gracelawn Cemetery. The memorial consists of several vertical markers all with quotes by former U.S. Presidents or historical information. There is even a marker that has important historical documents stored underneath it. The memorial is surrounded by landscaping, benches, a bell and a picnic table so you can sit down and take your time to pay your respects and enjoy reading the memorial.
