Edmond CVB Wins Oklahoma Redbud Award for Tourism Marketing Campaign

At the 2009 Oklahoma Governor's Tourism Conference in October, the Edmond Convention and Visitors Bureau was awarded the Red Bud Award for Best Overall Marketing Campaign in the state! This is a VERY prestigious honor and we are extremely proud of the recognition for all the hard work the ECVB staff put in over the last year.

The Edmond Convention & Visitors Bureau's recognition in this category was for their "Edmond...the Art of Oklahoma" branding campaign, developed by the bureau and their creative agency, CVB Media. This showcased their work for the past year building this brand into every aspect of their advertising, marketing and promotion of Edmond to potential visitors. The campaign included advertising in print, radio, television and on the web, as well as travel & trade shows, media blitzes, sales campaigns and other marketing activities. Judging and selection of winners was done by state tourism departments directors and tourism professionals in other states. Competitors included the OkC CVB, Tulsa CVB, OkC Museum of Art and others. Many competitors had much larger budgets and employed ad agencies. The Edmond Convention & Visitors Bureau has 2 full time employees, the Director and the Marketing Coordinator, and one part-time employee, the Office Manager. It is truly an honor for the work of this small office to be selected from among a highly competitive field of quality work.

The Red Bud Awards is an honor given by the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association and the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department. The Red Bud Awards recognize Oklahoma's tourism attractions, destination marketing organizations, media and travel writers for their outstanding efforts to serve and promote Oklahoma's tourism industry.

The Red Bud Awards represent the highest honor given in recognition of tourism excellence in Oklahoma. These awards showcase the best of our state and recognize the tourism industry partners for their outstanding efforts operating and promoting world-class attractions.
