Edmond is the place to be this summer with many new and recurring events filling the calendar. From family-friendly to nightlife activities Edmond offers great options to experience new things, relax or enjoy the great outdoors!
To celebrate the season, the free Concerts in the Park at Stephenson Park are back! On Thursdays throughout summer starting at 6 p.m. bands such as Souled Out, Highway 66 Band and City Moon will perform. Another family-friendly way to enjoy the summertime is at Family Fun Nights at KickingBird Golf. For only $13 in green fees, a family can play 9-holes with special junior tees or enjoy a free putting course starting at 5 p.m. on June 21, July 19 and August 23.
Festivals of all kinds are a big draw during the summertime. Edmond’s Heard on Hurd street festival hosted by one of Edmond’s oldest businesses, Citizens Bank, has something for everyone including live music, blocks of local shopping and over 30 food trucks. Heard on Hurd recurs monthly on the 3rd Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. until October. Another annual tradition in Edmond is to join the LibertyFest celebrations. Since 1972, Edmond’s Fourth of July festival gathers people to rejoice in our nation’s independence. The festival includes must-see events such as a Car Show, Parade, Fireworks and Patriotic Trivia at 7 p.m. at American Solera! Beginning June 26 with their Concert in the Park at 7:30 p.m. on UCO’s campus adjacent to Mitchell Hall and lasting through July 5 with their Liberty Sprint at 8 a.m. in Mitch Park celebrating the Fourth of July the Edmond way is a must!
Looking for nightlife options? Edmond, has you covered! Experience this unique show brought to Edmond from Polish pianist and magician, Igor Lipinski, “Igor Lipinski's Piano Illusions,” at 7:30 p.m. on July 10, 17 and 24. This show will be hosted at the UCO Jazz Lab, which will have many other thrilling shows this summer. For music lovers, Round Midnight and Sidecar Barley & Wine Bar will satisfy the desire for a beautifully crafted cocktail and live music, who both have shows throughout the week. For beer and comfort food lovers, stop by Frenzy Brewing Company, Patriarch Craft Beer House or The Old Icehouse for brews, great patio vibes and incredible tunes!
When enjoying the summer sun and a frozen treat from one of Edmond’s local businesses, there’s nothing better than watching sports and cheering on your team! For the first time, the Oklahoma United FC soccer league will be playing at Chad Richison Stadium on UCO’s campus. The nation’s top collegiate and future MLS stars will play while the crowd can enter giveaways and play games. And what’s a summer in Edmond without seeing a rodeo? The National Little Britches Association Finals at the Lazy E Arena will kick off June 6 and go throughout the summer to July 5. If you miss any of those dates don’t worry, the Edmond Jr. Rodeo starts June 13 and ends September 6. Experience and participate in the American tradition of horsemanship and Western heritage!
